Starting up from a floppy drive

Unless your computer has a built-in CD-ROM drive, the accessory kit that came with your computer contains a set of floppy disks. You can use the Install Me First floppy disk to start your computer:

mInsert the disk into the floppy drive and turn on your computer.

An Installer screen opens automatically to let you reinstall system software on your hard disk. Follow the instructions in the next section to reinstall system software.

If you want to start your computer from a floppy disk without installing system software, use the Disk Tools disk (insert the Disk Tools disk into the floppy drive and turn on your computer).
