Using older Macintosh programs

If you experience problems using an older Macintosh program, it may be incompatible with your Power Macintosh. You may be able to use your older program if you change the Memory Manager setting in your Memory control panel. Follow these steps:

1Choose Control Panels from the Apple (K) menu and open the Memory control panel.

2Turn off Modern Memory Manager.

Modern Memory Manager.

When you are finished using the program, open the Memory control panel again and turn Modern Memory Manager back on.

For best performance, contact the program’s manufacturer for an upgrade.
