Octel 300 Disk Drive Backplane Replacement
The disk drive backplanes provide communication and DC power buses from the motherboard to the disk
drive assembly. There are two disk drive backplanes, one for shelf B and one for shelf C.

electricity. Do not attempt the following procedures
without wearing an antistatic wrist strap.
The disk drive backplane is sensitive to rough
handling. Care should be taken to handle it asgently
as possible.

backplanes. Before proceeding, make sure todetermine which backplane is faulty.
