FUNCTION 19: Automatic emulation switching mode
Set this FUNCTION to ON to enable Automatic emulation switching mode. In this mode, the printer detects whether the codes being sent are BJ mode or Epson LQ mode. It then selects the printer’s Control mode to match the printer driver selected in the
When FUNCTION 19 is OFF, the printer’s Control mode is set by the operator panel.
Automatic emulation mode is applicable for
N❏ If the printer does not seem to be switching between BJ mode and Epson LQ mode, disable this FUNCTION and set the operator panel to match your application’s printer driver.
❏If you are using a printer switching device, you must allow at least ten seconds for the printer to recognize an emulation change. If your printer switching device switches data in less than ten seconds, automatic emulation switching will not function properly.
FUNCTION 1A: Low ink warning
Set this FUNCTION to ON to enable the Low ink warning. When the Low ink warning is on, you can set the printer’s ink gauge each time you install a new ink tank. Then the printer will notify you when the ink tanks begins to turn low on ink. See page 73 for details.
