36 Basic Installation of the iDRAC6
Software Installation and Configuration Overview
This section provides a high-level overview of the iDRAC6 software
installation and configuration process. For more information on theiDRAC6
software components, see "Installing the Software on the Managed System"
on page 37.

Installing iDRAC6 Software

To install iDRAC6 software:

Install the iDRAC6 software on the managed system. See
"Installing the

Install the iDRAC6 software on the management station. See "Installing
the Software on the Management Station" on page 37.

Configuring iDRAC6

To configure iDRAC6:

Use one of the following configuration tools:
Web-based interface (see "Configuring the iDRAC6 Using the Web
Interface" on page45)
RACADM CLI (see

)
Telnet console (see "Using a Telnet Console" on page89)
NOTE: Using more than one iDRAC6 configuration tool at the same time may
generate unexpected results.

Configure the iDRAC6 network settings. See "Configuring the iDRAC6
