Uncurling Function

This printer has the function to minimize a paper from wrinkle and paper edge crease due to curl.

The printer sends the command to the duplexing driver PCA by receiving the uncurling command sent from the formatter PCA. The duplexing driver PCA executes one of the operations below by the command sent from the printer.

1Skips uncurling operation

2Executes pause operation

3Executes dance operation

Pause Mode

Pause mode reduces paper curl. The duplexing driver PCA starts the reversing process, and then the fusing delivery sensor (PS1306) senses the trailing edge of the paper. After a specified period of time, the duplexing driver PCA stops and rotates the reversing motor (PM1701) counter clockwise (CCW). At the same time, the reversing rollers 1, 2, and 3 are rotated in reverse. The paper comes out about 30 mm from the duplexing unit along the uncurling guide and pauses for about one second. Then, the duplexing driver PCA starts to rotate the reversing motor (PM1701) clockwise (CW) so that the reversing rollers 1, 2, and 3 are rotated in reverse, and the paper refeeds into the duplexing unit.
