In Linux, the tioadmin user creation fails if the tioadmin group already exists before you install. No exception is thrown, so the installer cannot detect that the user creation operation has failed, and the system cannot return to a previous stage of the installation.

Solution

Reinstall Tivoli Intelligent Orchestrator. However, before you start the installation, ensure that the tioadmin user and tioadmin group either both exist or both do not exist.

The system cannot connect to the IBM Tivoli Directory Server during the Tivoli Intelligent Orchestrator installation

Cause

During the Tivoli Intelligent Orchestrator installation, the system might indicate that it cannot connect to the IBM Tivoli Directory Server. This error occurred because the directory server was not started before running the installer. The directory server must be started before you install Tivoli Intelligent Orchestrator, so the installer can connect to it.

Solution

1.Ensure that the directory server is installed:

a.If the installation destination directory was created, check the installation log file for the directory server:

v Windows: C:\IBM\LDAP\ldapinst.log

vUNIX or Linux: /usr/ldap/ldapinst.log

After the installation of the directory server is complete, an LDAP database must be created within DB2 Universal Database. For more information, refer to the Installation Guide for Tivoli Intelligent Orchestrator 5.1.

The ldapcfg.stat file shows the syntax that was used at the time of the database creation:

C:\IBM\ldap\bin\ldapcfg -n -a db2inst1 -w password -d LDAP -l C: -c -f

C:\IBM\ldap\tmp\ldapcfg.dat

The ldapcfg.stat file is located in the following directory:

vOn Windows: C:\IBM\ldap\tmp\ldapcfg.stat

vOn UNIX or Linux: /usr/ldap/tmp/ldapcfg.stat

2.Verify the status of the directory server, using the ibmdirctl tool, located in the C:\IBM\ldap\bin directory on Windows or in the /usr/ldap/bin directory on UNIX or Linux. Type the following command to check the directory server status:

ibmdirctl -D cn=root -w <password> status

3.If the directory server is not started, start it by using the following command:

start: ibmdirctl -D cn=root -w <password> start

The installation of the DB2 Universal Database Client on Windows 2003 system fails

Cause

The CD used for installing the DB2 Universal Database Client, DB2 Universal Database Administration Client, Version 8.1 on 64–bit systems, is not supported on Windows 2003 operating systems.
