This command performs hardware diagnostic tests on an individual port circuit.

In most cases, tests are performed on hardware connected to the port.

!WARNING:
Since the “clear long” options clear all counters if tests pass, it is possible
for firmware counters to be cleared even when a problem exists. I n some
cases customer service might degrade since calls may be routed over
defective equipment.
1. If no alarms are registered a gainst the maintenance ob ject then the test sequence is run only once. The
long
clear
option forces a clear of all a la rms i f no e rro rs a r e encou nt e red d uri ng t esti ng . Th e
short clear
option only
clears alarms pertinent to test s in the short sequence. SEE WA RNING BELOW.
