where
<i/f> | = | The name of an interface (“ether” for this device). |
[mtu <size>] = | Maximum Transmit Unit. The maximum packet size that this interface is to | |

<ip> | = | The IP address of the device’s interface. |
<ipmask> | = | The subnet mask of the device’s IP address. |
This command sets the Ethernet port’s IP address, subnet mask and the largest packet size that this interface sends.
