
Chapter 1: Overview
1.1 Initial Configuration
This section details how to configure and manage the Gigabit Managed Switch through the Web user interface. This feature enables administrators to easily access and monitor the entire status of the switch through any one port of the switch. Statuses which may be monitored include status of the MIBs, activity of each port, status of spanning trees, port aggregation status, multicast traffic, VLAN and priority status, even illegal access records.
The default values of the Gigabit Managed Switch are listed in the table below:

After the Gigabit Managed Switch has been configured in the interface, you can browse it. For instance, type http://192.168.1.1 in the address row in a browser. You will see the screen in Figure

The default username is “admin” and password is empty. For the first use, please enter the default username and password, then click the <Login> button.
