1The valid po rt nu mbers depend on t he model of S martSw itch 1800—s ee port loca tions
on page 6-1.
2 The software does not verify that a specified port exists. Make sure the port is configured
in the database.

Routing Algorithm
allows creation of a "hunt group" of ports (see ex ample on page 8-23) , for the purpo se
of routing per a pre-selected algorithm:
0 = Round Robin – selects ports specified cyclicly in numerical order according
to the list of Redirection Addresses. If the selected port is unreachable or con-
gested, the Call Request will be sent to the next port. (If the port becomes
available again, it will be inc luded in its as signed position.)
1 = Alternate Route on Line Failure – selects the first port that is not in a failed
state. If the selected port does not make a connection, the call will be clear ed, even
if other ports are available.
2 = Alternate Route on Line Busy – selects the first port that has LCNs available
(is not busy). If the port has failed, the next available port will be selected.
3 = Least LCN with Throughput – selec ts the line with the minumum loadin g, cal-
culated by weight and number of LCNs in use on that line. (Each line is assigned
a weight proportional to its throughput within the routing path.)
If use of a routing algorithm is not desi red, si mply accep t the default, and specify only
one rou tin g path .
Syste mat i c Re di re ct io n
will redirect (if Y) all calls to Redirection Address 0. If that address cannot be reached
and Redirect on Busy and/or Redirect on Out of Order are set to Y, a call will be placed
to Redirection Address 1, then (if necessary) Redirection Address 2, and so on.
