Once the necessary Node (Chapter 4) and RL P (Ch apter 5) parameters have bee n con -
figure d, pre ss [A] at the Port C onfiguration Me nu ( or [A], [C], [A] from the Main Menu.
When p rompte d, ente r a po rt numb er (or p ress [Enter] to ac cept the default of 0). Valid
port nu mbers d epend on the mode l of Smar tSwitc h 1800—s e e port locati on s on
page 6-1.
The display for an existing port will show the configured parameter values, while the
display for a new p ort will show default database v alues. (See Table 7-3 on pag e 7- 14
and Table 7-4 on page 7-15. ) The foll owing figure i s an exam ple of a n e xisting port.

If Physical Port Interface (item B) is configured as DSU, items G and H will
be different.
After making any changes, be sure to press [F7] to update the
system memory. Otherwise, the changes will not take effect until
the next re-boot of the SmartSwitch 1800.
Pressing [O] w ill display a screen simil ar to the following figure.
