LLC2 Interface Parameters

The following table lists parameters for all interface types. Explanations of some

parameters follow the table.

1 Make sure the port is not configured for backup use only. (See page 7-18.)
2 Make sure the DLCI is not part of a frame rel ay DLCI backup group or part of a frame
relay PVC (both described in Chapter 7).
3 See caution at explanation.
4 Conf igured in LLC2 Host file (describe d on page 9-18 ). If the a ddress was b it-swapped
in the H ost recor d, it must also be bit -swapped here.
5 The LAN ID on an originated LLC2 interface must match t he LAN ID on the corre-
sponding terminated interface. Also, (other than the exception of originated/terminated
pairs) each LAN ID must be unique among all LAN ID s throughout the network on
which th is node wi ll oper ate .

Interf ace Ty pe

identifies whether the interface is on a LAN or a frame relay network.

Blocked Po rt Flag

will cause the port to be enabled (N) or disabled (Y) at node IPL. The interface will

remain in that state until this parameter is changed or (frame relay interface only) an

on-line enable ([B], [B], [C] fr om the Mai n M enu) or di s abl e ([B], [B], [A] from the Main

Menu) is performed.

Port Pr ior ity

will become the first octet of the Por t ID fiel d in Sp anning Tree P rotoc ol mess ages. T he

lower the number, the higher the priority that the interface will be given among other

interfaces in the spanning tree.
