Configuring BSC Interactive Port Records
Once the necessary Node (Chapter 4) and protocol (Chapter 5) parameters have been
configured, press [A] at the Port Configuration Menu (or [A], [C], [A] fr om the Main
Menu. When prompted, enter a port number (or press [Enter] to accept the default of
0). Valid port numbers depend on the model of SmartSwitch 1800—see po rt locations
on p age 6- 1.
The display for an existing port will show the configured parameter values, while the
display for a new port will show d efault database values. (S ee Table 10-1 on page 10-
4.) The following figure is an example of an existing port.

If BSC Type (item J) is 2-HPAD, item K will be Answer Non-Configured.
After making any changes, be sure to press [F7] to up date the
system memory. Otherwise, the changes will not take effect until
the next re-boot of the SmartSwitch 1800.
Pressing [L] lists more parameters, and pressing [M] displays a screen similar to the fol-
lowing. (All BSC Interactive parameters are listed in Table 10-1 and Tabl e 10 - 2.)
