What is the DRPDfunction?DRPD:defined

The DRPD(distinctiveringpafterndetector)function automaticallyswitchesthe facsimileanswerto the ring patternfrom the telephoneexchange.Thisallowsyou to set up the facsimileto receivetelephoneand facsimiletransmissionswith differentnumberson the sameline.You canalso,of course,receivetelephone andfacsimiletransmissionsto the samenumberon one line.

Thisfeatureworkstogetherwithoptionalservices providedby somelocalphonecompaniesUsing.a singletelephoneline,separatenumbersaregivento fax callsandvoicecallsbasedon a designatedring patternwhich,whendialed,willringat the same telephonelinewithitsown distinctivering.Therefore, each call is answeredproperlyas a fax or voice call.

Therearefour ring patternsthat you can setfor a telephonenumber,a facsimilenumber,or a number that is to be usedfor boththe fax and telephone.Each patterncan be selectedfor one of threemodes:

rFAXmode Thesettingfor the phonenumberthat is to be usedfor the facsimile.

rTEL mode Thesettingfor the phonenumberthat is to be usedfor the telephone.

rFAXiTELAUTOSW mode The seftingfor the phonenumberthatcan be usedfor automatic switchingbetweentelephoneandfacsimile operation.
