System I/O Board with Subpan
The system I/O board with subpan is removed for replacement or to upgrade to a different Compaq model server.
To remove the system I/O board with subpan:
1.Perform the preparation procedures. See “Preparation Procedures” earlier in this chapter.
2.Remove the side access panel. See “Side Access Panel” earlier in this chapter.
3.Remove the top access panel. See “Top Access Panel” earlier in this chapter.
4.Disconnect and remove all boards from the system I/O board. Place these boards on a nonconductive work surface.
5.Disconnect all cables from the system I/O board.
6.Loosen the thumbscrews securing the system I/O board and subpan to the chassis.
7.Move the system I/O board forward slightly, then up through the top of the server.

Reverse steps 1 through 7 to replace the system I/O board with subpan. Change the switch 1 and switch 2 settings to match the switch settings on the board being replaced. Install all removed boards onto the replacement system I/O board after installing the I/O board into the system.
