HP JetAdmin Utility (Novell Networks)

1Run JETADMIN.

2Select the printer you want to configure. It is listed under its “JetDirect Interface Name” which appears on the self test page/configuration plot.

3Click on Printer at the top of the menu.

4Click on Properties.

5When the Property Pages appear click on the Security tab.

6Select the Lock option under Control Panel Lock

7Click on the OK button.

ASCII PJL Escape Sequence

Password: send this sequence to the printer from any ASCII editor:

EC %-12345X@PJL JOB

@PJL DEFAULT PASSWORD=[numeric password (0 to 65535)]

@PJL EOJ

EC %-12345X

CPLOCK: to turn on or off, assuming that a password has NOT been set, send the following ASCII sequence to the printer:

EC %-12345X@PJL JOB

@PJL DEFAULT CPLOCK=ON [OFF]

@PJL EOJ

EC %-12345X

If a password HAS been set, send the following ASCII sequence to the printer to turn CPLOCK on or off.:

EC %-12345X@PJL JOB PASSWORD=(numeric password)

@PJL DEFAULT CPLOCK=ON(OFF)

@PJL EOJ
