General LaserSafety Guidelines

Whenworking around ports that support optical transceivers, observe the following
safetyguidelines to prevent eye injury:
Donot look into unterminated ports or at fibers that connect tounknown sources.
Donot examine unterminated optical ports with optical instruments.
Avoiddirect exposure to the beam.
WARNING: Unterminatedoptical connectors can emit invisiblelaser
radiation. The lens in the human eye focuses all the laser poweron the
retina,so focusing the eye directly on a laser source—evena low-power
laser—couldpermanently damage the eye.
