Connecting Earth Groundto an EX Series Switch
Tomeet safety and electromagneticinterference (EMI) requirements and to ensure
properoperation, you must connect the switches to earth ground beforeyou connect
themto power.
Forinstallations that require a separate grounding conductorto the chassis, use the
protectiveearthing terminal on the EX Series switch chassis to connectto the earth
ground(see Figure 25 on page 67).

Beforeyou connect earth ground to the protectiveearthing terminal of an EX Series
switch,ensure that a licensed electrician has attachedan appropriate grounding lug to
thegrounding cable.
