USB Port Specificationsfor an EX Series Switch
Thefollowing Juniper Networks USB flash driveshave been tested and are officially
supportedfor the USB port on all EX Series switches:
•RE-USB-1G-S
•RE-USB-2G-S
•RE-USB-4G-S
CAUTION: AnyUSB memory product not listed as supported for EX Series
switcheshas not been tested by Juniper Networks. The use of any
unsupportedUSB memory product could expose your EX Series switch to
unpredictablebehavior.Juniper Networks TechnicalAssistance Center(JTAC)
canprovide only limited support for issues relatedto unsupported hardware.
Westrongly recommend that you use onlysupported USB flash drives.
AllUSB flash drives used on EX Series switches must have the followingfeatures:
•USB2.0 or later.
•Formattedwith a FATor MS-DOS file system.
•Ifthe switch is running Junos OS Release 9.5 or earlier,the formatting method must
usea master boot record. Microsoft Windows formatting,by default, does not use a
masterboot record. See the documentation for yourUSB flash drive for information
onhow your USB flash drive is formatted.
