Creating Default Route or Source Route on the DSL
Use this procedure to create a default route or source route for each DSL card
(upstream direction). You can create up to 16 default or source routes per DSL
card.
Procedure
To create default routes or source routes on the DSL:
1. Select
Configuration
IP Router
Static_Routes
(A-E-A).
2. Press Return on the Item 0 field to add a new record.
3. Enter values for the following fields and press Return after each entry.
Field Description Input
Host/Net Destination of the route.
0.0.0.0
to indicate the
default route
Subnet Mask Associated subnet mask
for the specified
destination IP address.
nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn
format
Next Hop IP address of the next hop
device for the specified
destination.
nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn
format
Pref (Preference) Measure of how preferable
one route is to another, if
you have two routes going
to the same destination.
(The lower the number, the
more preferable the route.)
This route is compared to
other routes for the same
destination address.

S/D (Source/Destination) Source or destination route
type. Default = Dst
PA (Proxy ARP) Router answers ARP
requests intended for
another machine.
Default = No
4. Confirm the save and press Ctrl-z to return to the
Configuration
IP Router
menu.
