thelevel of physiological strain and recoveryduring andafter an exercise session. It measuresheartrate,
speedand distance. It also measures runningcadencew henused with Polar stride sensor Bluetooth®Smart
andcycling cadence when usedw ith a Polarc adencesensor Bluetooth® Smart. No otheruse is intended or
implied.
Thetraining devices houldnot be used for obtainingenvironmentalmeasurementst hat requireprofessionalor

INTERFERENCE DURING TR AINING

ElectromagneticInterferenceand Training Equipment
Disturbancemay occur nearelectrical devices. Also WLAN basestations may cause interferencewhen
trainingwith the trainingdevice. Toavoid erratic readingor misbehavior,move away from possible sources of
disturbance.
Trainingequipmentwith electronic or electrical componentssuch as LED displays, motorsand electrical
brakesmay cause interferingst ray signals. To solve these problems,try t hefollowing:
1. Removethe heart rate sensorst rapfrom your chest and use the trainingequipment as you wouldnor-
mally.
2. Movethe training device arounduntil you find an areain which it displays nostray readingor does not
flashthe heart symbol. Interferenceis oftenworst directlyin front of the display panel of the equipment,
whilethe left or right side of the display is relatively free of disturbance.
3. Putthe heart rate sensor strapback onyour chest and keep thet rainingdevice in this interference-free
areaas muchas possible.
If the trainingdevice still does not work wi th the trainingequipment, it may be electrically too noisy for
wirelessheart rate measurement.For furtherinformation, www. polar.com/support.
Partsof V 800are magnetic. It may attract metallic materials and it's magnetic field may interfere with a
compass.To avoid interference, it is recommendedto wear your compass on onearm (at the level of your
chest)and your V800on the other arm's wrist. Donot place credit cards or othermagnetic storage media near
V800,because informationstored on them may be erased.
