Beforeperformingany of the jump tests, make s ureyou have warmed upproperly, especially your leg
muscles. Whenperforming anyof thetests , always use the same correct jumpingtechnique to maximize the
comparabilityandreliability of t heresults.
Yourlatest test result is shown inTests > Jump test> Latest result.Only your most recently performedtest
resultis s hown. Youc anv iew your previousresults in the V800 diary. For a visual analysis of your Jump test
results,go to the Flow w ebs erviceand select t hetest fromyour Diary to view details f romit.
SQUAT JUMP
Thesquat jumpt est measuresexplosive strength.This test is performedby starting with your kneesbent in a
90degreeangle, and jumpingvertically as high as possible from that position. Hands should beheld on the
hipsto avoid the effect of armswinging to the test. Knees and ankles should beextended at take-off, and they
shouldbe in a similar extendedposition when landingon the ball of the foot.
Inthe test youperform threeattempts of thesquat jump and the best attempt is the test result. Give yourself a
shortrecovery periodbetween attempts to ensure maximal effort onevery attempt.
Performingthe Squat Jump
Wearthe Polar Bluetooth®S martSt rideSensor, and choose Jump test> Squat, andpress START.
Searchingfor stride sensor is displayed. Squatj umps Start now! is shown when you can start the test.
1. Standwith your hands on yourhips and knees bent in a 90 degreeangle. Stay still f ora f ew seconds.
2. Jumpvertically w ithoutany c ountermovement.
3. Landwith both feet with your legs straight and anklesext ended.
4. Performthreeatt emptsof the squat jump.Give yourself a shortrecovery periodbetween attempts to
ensuremaximal effort onevery attempt.
It is importantnot t o performany kind of countermovementduring the squatjump test.
Duringthe test you will seethe numberjumps performed(1/3, 2/3 or 3/3), and the
heightof your last jump e.g. 53 cm.
