NOTE: DL3800E units with different software versions may not support all features available in the more recent version. It is recommended that local and remote units have identical software versions installed. If possible, both local and remote units should always be upgraded when installing newer software versions.

The following equipment is required to download new software.

A PC with a disk drive capable of reading an MS DOS binary file is required. Quick Eagle Networks provides a 3.5 inch floppy formatted for 1.4 Mb for downloading software.

A terminal emulation program such as Procomm, Mirror, or Xtalk with VT100 or ANSI emulation that supports one or all of the following:

Motorola S-Records with ASCII Transfer

Binary Image with Xmodem

Binary Image with Kermit

Make the proper RS-232 connection between the PC and the DL3800E. A DE-9 connector is pinned out on the DL3800E unit such that the use of a null modem is not necessary. DE-9 to DB-25 adapters may be needed depending upon the PC used.
