Use the following procedure to replacethe battery on the Display Storage and
GPIB or RS-232 boards.
The Spectrum Analyzer uses two lithium batteries for nonvolatilememory. One
battery is located on the DisplayS torageboard, and the other on the GPIB or
RS-232 board.
NOTE. Replacement of this assembly requirescompletion of the. Amplitude
Flatness Adjustment Procedure on Page 5-- 52.
Large quantities ofspent batteries may need to be sent by surface carrier to a
hazardous waste disposal facility.Check with your local, state and Federal
regulations.
WARNING. Toavoid personal injury, observe proper proceduresfor handling of
lithium batteries. Improperhandling can cause fire, explosion, or severe burns.
Do not recharge,crush, disassemble, heat the battery above 100 °C, incinerate,
or expose the contents to water.
Maintenance Adjustments
Maintenance procedures are those required when an as sembly is replaced.
Normal adjustment does not requirecompletion of this procedure.
After replacing theP haseLock CFC Board, use this procedure to select R602 on
the Phase Lock CFC board.
1. Remove the small shield over part of the Phase Lock CFC board.
2. Disable frequency correctionsby pressing UTIL 4 3 5. Press any menu
button to exit the menu, then enable continuous strobesby pressing
UTIL5166.
3. Monitor J240 on the LFVCO assembly (Phase Lock module) with thetest
oscilloscope. Set the test oscilloscope deflectionfactor to 1 V/div and sweep
rate to 20 s/div.
4. Set the FREQ SPAN/DIV to 200 kHz. There should be a square wave
present. Tune the FREQ/MARKERS control to get the lowest frequency
possible. Reset the test oscilloscope time/div as needed.
5. Measure the beat note amplitude at the bottom of R602 (Figure 6-- 13) on the
Phase Lock CFC board.
