Ethernet cable connection

The GA-1040 supports Ethernet cabling with Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) cable and Shielded Twisted Pair (STP), defined as Category 5 for use with 100BaseT or defined as Category 3 or Category 5 for use with 10BaseT. The cable plugs into the RJ-45 socket on the GA-1040.

NOTE: The 100BaseT type supported by the GA-1040 is 100BaseTX, also known as Fast Ethernet. If an Ethernet hub is used, it must be a 100BaseTX hub. The term “100BaseT” is used in this manual to refer to 100BaseTX.

!Shut down the copier before attaching the GA-1040 to any network device.

TO USE UTP/STP CABLE FOR 100BASET OR 10BASET

1.With the copier turned off, connect the RJ-45 connector to the RJ-45 socket on the back of the copier.

2.Configure network servers for printing and then proceed to Setup.
