Managing the Video Dial Feature 161

Managing Video Dial-upTo set up, activate, and end a video dial-up session, follow these basic steps:

Sessions

1Create virtual circuits between the appropriate PathBuilder S330/S310 units. This effectively builds a call routing table.

For detailed instructions, see“Defining RS366 (Video) Virtual Circuit Templates”, earlier in this chapter.

2Start the session either manually or automatically via the RS-366 interface. For details, see “Starting Video Dial-up Sessions” later in this section.

3End the session either manually or automatically via the V.35 interface. For details, see “Ending Video Dial-up Sessions” later in this section.

Starting Video Dial-up Sessions

A video dial-up session starts (connects) automatically when someone dials a number matching one of the numbers in the call routing table (one of the numbers associated with an RS366 virtual circuit template) on a video keypad. You create the call routing table by building virtual circuits between PathBuilder S330/310 CBR modules. For details about building video virtual circuits, see “Defining RS366 (Video) Virtual Circuit Templates”, earlier in this chapter. For details about viewing the call routing table, see “Viewing the Video Call Routing Table” later in this section.

You can also start (connect) a video dial-up session manually. To do this, follow these steps:

1From the Configuration Management menu, select [4] Manage Video Dial to display the Manage Video Dial menu, shown earlier in Figure 129.

2From the Manage Video Dial menu, select [2] Manually Connect (Dial) A Site to display the Manually Connect A Site menu, shown in Figure 130. The current connection status is displayed at the top of the menu.
