8.Enter the password for the Auth-Protocol.

9.Select one of the following choices for the Priv-Protocolfield:

DES: Specifies DES encryption scrambles the SNMP data so that outside observers are prevented from seeing the data content.

none: Specifies no encryption is applied to SNMP data.

Note

If you specify a privacy password, the privacy protocol is set to DES and you must also specify an authentication protocol and password.

10.Click Add.

The new User Name and Group Name are displayed on the SNMP User/Group page. See Figure 71.

11.From the main menu on the left side of the page, select Save Configuration to Flash to permanently save your changes.

If you need to modify an entry in the SNMP User/Group page, you must first delete the entry and then re-enter it. For information about how to delete an entry in this table, see “Deleting SNMPv3 User and Group Names” on page 207. For information about how to create a new entry in this table, see “Creating SNMPv3 User and Group Names” on page 206
