You must input the details o f all the targets physically conne cted to the
system’s IP devices/KVM s witches. This incl udes giving each target a
unique name and other r elevant details.
As mentioned in the pr e-installation g uidelines, Appe ndix A (separate fi le
on this CD) contains thr ee lists of all th e details you nee d to prepare (you
may not need all three).
To configure a target:
1. From the “Management” menu, select “Targets”. The “Targets”
page appears; see Figure 25.

The columns display the following informat ion:
• name – Name of target. You can s earch for a targe t by typing the
target name in the “Fin d a Target” field an d clicking . You can sort
the names in alphabeti cal order A–Z or Z–A by clicking the top of the
“Name” column. You can also select which ta rgets to display fr om
the “Show by Service” d rop-down list. You ca n show all targets or
just show targets with a particular Ac cess Service; to do so, choose
the desired service from the “Show by S ervice” drop- down list.
• KVM over IP Device – The type of B elkin OmniView K VM-over-IP
device to which the targ et is connected.
• access service s – Icons of Acce ss Services ava ilable to access
the target. To see which se rvice the icon represents, hol d the mouse
over the icon and a tool tip appears with the name of the se rvice.
• Target sets – The tar get sets to which this target is a m ember.
• Description – Optional descripti on of the target.
