Description – Description of the Access Service: VNC
application/VnC application Path/Port – These fields are only relevant
in VNC Client mode. The difference be tween VNC Client and Web mode
is detailed below.
Url/Host – Type the URL/host of the VNC resource.
Mode – VNC Client (default)
When using VNC Client mode, the page ap pears as in Figu re 88.
VNC Client mode uses a VNC console server. In VNC Client, the V NC
application must be in stalled on all c lient computers , preferably in t he
samepath.Inthedefaultpath%ProgramFiles%\VNCPath,theapplication
couldbeinanydrivein theProgramFiles\VNCPathfol der,wherethe
VNCPath is the actual installation folder of the VNC applicatio n. The
installation folder depends on the type of VNC: RealVN C, TightVNC, or
UltraVNC.
The VNC application ca n be obtained f rom:
• RealVNC:http://www.realvnc.com
• TightVNC:http://www.tightvnc.com/
• UltraVNC:http://www.uvnc.com/
In VNC Client mode, the port number sh ould correspon d to the VNC
listening port.
login Method:
• PromptforCredentials–ThismeanstheVNCloginappear sand
you log in manually.
• UseOmniViewIPHQCre dentials–Thismeans OmniViewIP5000HQ
logs in to VNC with the currently logged user credential s. Ensure that
VNC is configured to re cognize the same user name and p assword.
• UsetheFollowingCredentials–Wherethepasswordsarediffere nt
for OmniView IP 5000HQ and VNC, select this option. A passwor d
field appears. Type the V NC user password . OmniView IP 500 0HQ
logs in to VNC using thi s password.
Web mode
In Web mode there is no n eed for an execut able application .
When selecting Web mod e, the page appea rs as in Figure 89.
