The figure below shows a typical OmniV iew IP 5000HQ ap plication. 3.1 Creating users
An administrator can c reate users with two different po ssible permiss ion
types:
• Administrator
• User
A user can be a full u ser or just view o nly. These permiss ion types are
explained fully in the “Acc ount policy” sec tion. In the example below,
four users are create d with various pe rmission types .
The system works as follo ws:
Data centers in locati ons throughout th e world are conne cted to Belkin
IP devices and to other third-party Ac cess Service s. The Belkin IP
devices are HQ-enab led, allowing the O mniView IP 5000 HQ to access/
control the targets co nnected to all IP devices via IP.
Users access the Omn iView IP 5000HQ web interface an d, depending
on their level of acces s permissions, c an access and c ontrol the target s.

Once an administrator c reates targets o r sets of targets (explained
below) in the system, use rs can be assig ned access to in dividual targets
or sets of targets.
