a) an IP device is no t respondin g.
1. Confirm that the unit is powere d on and its net work cable is
connected properly.
2. Confirm the IP settings are c orrect and you c an route to the uni t.
3. Confirm that the IP device in no t in the middle of an upgrade proc ess.
4. Restore the dev ice to factory d efaults and reco nfigure it.
b) a n IP device d isplays an “al arm” status .
1. Confirm that the IP device is in working order.
2. Confirm the d evice IP settings .
3. Delete and re configure the IP d evice on the Omni View IP 5000HQ.
C) When clicking on a target, I get an error “902… cannot connect.”
1. Try to restart the unit and wait until it’s online.
2. Ensure that ports 900, 901, and 902 are not blocked by
another application.
3. Ensure there a re no duplicated IP devices on the network with
the same settings.
4. Verify the device has a firmware version c ompatible with
OmniView IP 5000HQ.
D) When controlling a target, the mouse cannot be synchronized.
1. Make sure that the operating sys tem selection an d the mouse
acceleration/ threshold settings on the OmniView IP 5000HQ target
properties match the server pa rameters.
2. If using a K VM switch with USB dongle or USB-to- PS/2 adapter,
ensure that the “USB Converter” ch eck box is checke d in the
OmniView IP 5000HQ target prope rties.
3. Try to disable mouse acceleration on the ta rget and select “None” in
the “Acceleration” field in the target properties.
e) The video is distorted when controlling a target.
1. Push the “Auto Vide o Adjust” butto n in the client v ideo settings.
2. Confirm that this particular KVM-over-IP devic e can show clear video
on an already confirmed server.
3. Replace the 3 -in-1 cable or test i t on another KV M switch.
4. Try changing the target screen resolution or re fresh rate.
f) Performance decreases when controlling a target.
1. Click the “Auto Vid eo Adjust” but ton in the client video settings.
2. Reduce the co lors or compre ssion levels in th e
“Client Performance” settings.
3. Check that vid eo from the tar get is clear with low noise level.
