16.4.3 Configuri ng the prima ry unit
1. From the primary unit, log in to the Omni View IP 5000HQ
Manager Web interface.
2. From the “Settings/Mai ntenance” menu, cli ck “Replication”;
Figure 100 appears.
3. Select “Primary Uni t”. The page now appe ars as follows:

4. Type the IP address of the s econdary unit.
5. Click . The dat abase constantly replicates to the
secondary unit.
6. The Secondary Unit status changes to “Replication is on”.
16.4.4 Promoting a secondary unit to a sta ndalone uni t
When a primary unit is down or malfun ctioning, you can p romote the
secondary unit to be a standalone uni t.
To do so:
1. At the secondary uni t, log in as an ad ministrator to the O mniView IP
5000HQ web interface .
2. From the “Settings/Mai ntenance” menu, cli ck “Replication”;
Figure 100 appears.
3. Select “Standalone U nit”. The unit resta rts in standal one mode.
4. Re-log in to the unit.
5. Change the IP address to match the origin al primary unit ’s
IP address (the IP addr ess to which all IP devices are poin ting).
Do this in the “Network ” tab under “Set tings/Unit Main tenance”;
see the “Network tab” s ection on page 95 . note: Before changing
the secondary unit I P address, switch off or disconne ct the original
primary unit from th e network to avoid n etwork conflicts .
6. Click . T his unit restar ts. Users can l og in and
operate targets.
