16.1.1 The backup elements
Credentials for backup shar e – Enter the user credentials (nam e,
password, and domain) of the network share path to which the backup
file will be saved. (T he designated bac kup share must re quire both user
and password login.)
Destination pa th – Enter the rem ote computer name and shared folde r
or its IP address and shared folder us ing the following pa th syntax:
//computer name/share - e.g., //gx270n-comp163/backup
or
//computer IP address/share - e.g., //192.168.2.71/backup
note: Netware shares are not supported.
For computer name reso lving the DNS ser ver, IP address must be set in
the “Unit Maintenance/ Network” tab.
To validate the destination pa th, click .
backup schedule – Select the che ck box to activate th e
backup schedule.
select time – Se lect the time (ho ur and minute) that the backup
should initiate.
select days – Sele ct which days the backup should be performed.
Click to save the set tings.
The scheduled times wo rk according to t he internal clock of the
OmniView IP 5000HQ Ma nager appliance.
To perform a manual back up at any time, clic k .
The backup file is stor ed in the destina tion path.
16.1.2 restoring data base backup
To restore the OmniView IP 50 00HQ database from a previously created
backup file:
1. Click the “Restore” tab and the follow ing appears.

2. Browse to locate the backup file.
3. Load the backup file.
4. Click . After the process finishes, you ar e logged out
from the OmniView IP 50 00HQ web interf ace; log in again.
