The password is saved across warm boots and power cycles.

➽Note: If you have forgotten the password, you can delete it by depressing the unlabeled system request button on the front panel of the switch for one second, releasing it, then selecting Point 4. Clear the system password. This will clear both the Read-Onlyand the Read/Write password.
