Segmented Memory The HP E1429 digitizer is capable of pre-arm and post-arm readings. Pre-arm readings are taken after the digitizer is INITiated and before an arm is received. Post-arm readings are taken after an arm is received. When multiple reading sequences consist of pre- and post-arm readings, digitizer memory is partioned into segments (Figure 3-9).

When the reading sequence consists of pre-arm and post-arm readings, the number of segments is equal to the arm count. The maximum number of segments (arm count) under these conditions is 128.
