Attaching a Heads et
Using a Headset
If you use a headset or similar device with your
phone, you can set your phone to send incoming
sound to the heads et only, or to the he adset and
the speaker at the same tim e:
1From the main menu, sele ct Settings >
Advanced > Headset/Spkr.
2Select HdsetOnly to send incoming sound t o
the headset only. -or-
Select Hdset&Spkr to send incoming sound to
the headset and ring tones to the speaker.
Note:If you are using your phone with a
headset, and you have the Fli p to End
option set to On, closing your flip sends
incoming sound to t he headset and do es
not end the call. See “Se tt ing Fl i p Act i ons ”
on page 63.

1Lift the audio jack cover.
2Insert the headset connec tor firmly into the
audio jack. You may have t o rotate the headset
connector until it fits secur ely into the audio jack.

Using a Remote PTT Button

If you are using a headset or other accessory with
a remote PTT button, you can use the remote PTT
button for phone calls, Direct Connect calls, Group
Connect calls, and Talkgroup cal ls .
For phone calls, use the remote PTT b utton to
answer calls, switch between calls, and end calls.
Hold the remote PTT button for less than 2
seconds to answer calls and sw itch between calls.
Hold the remote PTT button for more than 2
seconds to end calls.
For Direct Connect cal ls , Gro up Conn ec t cal ls , and
Talkgroup calls, use the r emote PTT button as you
would the PTT but ton on your phone.
Note:W hen using a headset, the PT T button on
your phone works t he same way as when
you are not using a headset. D ire ct
Connect® , Group Connec t, an d Talkgroup
sounds will be heard through the headset.
