Nextel® Voice Mail
To activate the greeting schedule, from the main
voice mail menu, press 3, then press 9 to
activate your greetin g schedule.
Note:The greeting schedule, when on, will
override any other greeting that you may
set as active. If a greeting is not recorded,
a system standard gre eting will be played .
Automatic Playback and Playback OrderBy default, the playback mo de of your voice mail
service is set to norma l. This feature automatica lly
plays and saves new messages when you log in.
To activate automatic playback:
1From the main voice mail menu, press 4 to
access personal options.
2Press 4 to access personal prefe ren ces.
3Press 2 to access playback prefer e n ce s.
4Follow the prompts fo r automatic or norm al
playback.
Recording, Forwarding , and Replying to MessagesThese functions allow y ou to record and send,
reply to, or forward a message to an assigned
destination address or group list number. If you
record a complete or parti al message, but do not
send it, Nextel Voice Mai l service will refer to this
message as an “in prepara t io n” me ssage.
To access additional gr eetings, from the main
voice mail menu, p ress 2 and follow the prom pts.
Note:You can only send messages using this
method to Nextel customers in you r hom e
market.
Delivery OptionsAfter you have created a messag e, you can ass ig n
the message to a category before you send it.
Below is a list of the options that can be applied to
a message:
•Urgent — Recipient wi ll hear this messa ge
before other messages.
•Private — Recipient cannot copy the messa ge
to another mailbox or phone number.
• Notification of Non-Deliver y — You will be
notified if the recipient h as not listened to your
message by a certain date and time.
