Direct TalkSM
If you are out of net work coverage, your ph one will
not be able to make an emergency 911 ce llular call
until you go back into the ne twork coverage area.
You must wait until the ph one reconnects to the
network before attempting to make an emergency
911 cellular call.
Setup Options
Direct Talk setup o ptions are availa ble in the DT
Options screen in both netwo rk and Direct Talk
modes.
To access Setup Options in network:
1From the main menu, sele ct DirecTalk.
2Select Setup.
To access Setup Option s in Direct Talk:
1From the main menu, sele ct DT Options.
2Select Setup.
You can set your phone to:
•Launch directly into Dire ct Talk when you select
DirecTalk from the main menu .
•Notify you periodic al ly wit h a tone th at yo u ar e in
Direct Talk.

Using Direct Launch

To set your phone to launch into Direct Talk when
you select DirecTalk from the main menu:
1From the setup screen, se lect Direct Launch.
2Select On.
Note:If Direct Launch is set to On, you will not
see DT Options when you select
DirecTalk from the main menu. In o rder to
have access to your set up options, Direct
Launch must be set to Off. Or you can
access setup optio ns while in Direct Talk
mode by pressing m and selecting DT
Options.
To turn off Direct Launch:
1From the setup screen, se lect Direct Launch.
2Select Off.
Your phone now displays DT Options when you
select DirecTalk from the main menu.

Using State Tone

To set your phone to notify you with a to ne that you
are in Direct Talk:
1From the setup screen, se lect State Tone.
2Select the time frame during which you want to
be notified that you are in Direct Talk.
