International Numbers
To program a wait:
Press and hold * until th e l ett e r W ap pe ars. The
W means your phon e waits before diali ng
further.
If you store 17035551235W1234, when you select
this number and make a call, your phone dials the
first 11 digits and then waits. A message appears
asking if you want to send t he rest of the digits.
Press A under Yes to dial the last 4 digits.
Tip:You can creat e pauses and waits while
dialing a number from the keypad. See
“Creating Pauses and Waits W h ile Di al ing”
on page 62.
International NumbersWhen storing a nu mber that you plan to use for
international calls, use Plus Dialing:
1Press and hold 0 for two seconds. A “0”
appears, then chan ges to a “+”.
Note:T he network translat es the “+” into the
appropriate intern ational access code
needed to place th e call.
2Enter the country code, city code or area code,
and phone number.

Making Calls From ContactsWhile Viewing the Contacts List
1Access Contacts.
2Scroll to the name or number you wan t to call.
Tip:To find Contacts entries faster, use the
keypad to enter the first letter of the name.
3To place the call now, go to step 4. -or-
Scroll left or right to display the Co ntacts type for
the number you wan t to call.
4To make a phone call, pres s s. -or-
To make a Direct Connect call, press the PTT
button.
If you are making a Dire ct Connect call, your p hone
places the call to the Direct Connec t numb er stor ed
in the Contacts entry, ev en if the Direct Connect
icon is not displayed.
If you are making a phone call:
•Your phone places th e call to the phone number
assigned to the Conta c ts type displayed.
•If the Contacts type displayed is not a phone
number, your phone places the call to the phone
number stored in th e Contacts entry.
