Getting Started
Customizing FeaturesYou can control many features of your phone,
including the size of the text on t he disp lay, th e way
you access main menu items, and the volume of
incoming sound, rings, and other to nes. See
“Customizing Y our Phone” on page 14 2.
Phone BasicsDisplay
Any time your phone is powered on, the display
provides you with information and options.
The external disp lay shows a shorte ned version of
the internal display. To se e mo re i nf orm at io n, op en
the flip.
The screen shown above is the id le sc r e en . The
idle screen appears w hen your phone is on, but n ot
engaged in any activity .
Text Area
This area displays menus, messages, names,
phone numbers, and other information.
Display Options
Two display options appe ar at the bottom of most
screens. You select a disp lay option by pressing
the option key belo w it.
Menus and Lists
Your phone’s features are arranged in menus,
submenus, and lists.
To access the items in a menu or list, scroll using
the navigation key at the top of your keypad. This
key lets you scroll up, d own, left, or right. Holdin g
down the appropr iate part of the naviga tion key
speeds up scrolling.
In this guide, this symbol > tells you to select a
menu or list item . For example, Settings >
Security means:
1Scroll to Settings on the main menu.
2Press O to see the Settings screen.
