Clean the cartridge head by refering to Chapter 5, Maintaining the Printer. The platen often gets dirty at the same time as the head, so it is recom- mended to also clean the platen.

Clean the platen by refering to Chapter 5, Main- taining the Printer. If cleaning the head and the platen does not work, contact the supplier from where you purchased the printer.

Rough or specially treated surfaces may not allow the ink to adhere well, resulting in gaps or distor- tions. In such a case, use a halftone setting appro- priate for the image.

In these situations, the overlap of different col- ours of ink can degrade the quality of the image. Reducing the amount of halftoning can reduce this effect. Use a halftone option appropriate for the image.

With both VPhoto Print Film and Dye Sublima- tion Paper, printing should take place on the glossy side. Take care not to print on back of the paper, particularly with Dye Sublimation paper, while using the Dye Sub ink cartridges as the rib- bons in the cartridges may break.
