Problem Solving
Characters are Distorted or Incorrect
Check the following:
■ Are the brightness and contrast controls properly
adjusted on the video display? Refer to the
documentation supplied with your v ideo display.
■ Are the video display signal and power c ables
properly installed?
■ Is the SCU configuration set up correctly for the
type of monitor you have attached to th e system?
■ If the problem persists, the video display may be
faulty or it may be the incorrect type. Contact your
service representative for assistance .
Incorrect Or No Beep Code
Check the following:
■ Is the speaker enabled?
■ Is the speaker cable connected to the sy stem board?
If the system operates normally, but there was no beep,
the speaker may be defective, contac t your ser vice
representative for assistance.
Record the beep code emitted by POST and r efer to the
Error Messages section, for infor mation about beep
pattern error messages.
