Receiving Manually in TEL Mode Using an Extension Phone
If you are using the external telephone connected to the EXT jack on your product, you can answer calls and start the product to receive a fax.
1Press Receive Mode until you see “TEL” on the bottom line. Then press Enter.
2When the telephone rings, answer it by picking up the handset of the external phone.
3If you hear a fax tone, or if the person on the other end asks
you to receive a fax, press the keys “ 9
” (star nine star) on the extension telephone.
If you still hear the fax tone from the remote machine, try pressing “ 9
” once again.
“ 9
” is the remote receive start code preset at the factory. The first and the last asterisks are fixed, but you can change the middle number to whatever you choose. For more information, see page page 5.44.
4When the product starts receiving the document, replace the handset of the extension telephone.
