About DNS Servers
In order to use URI dialing or ENUM diali ng,
you must specify a DNS ser ver to be queried
for address resolution. You can spec ify up to
5 DNS servers. Normally onl y the first DNS
server will be queried, but if i t fails to respond,
all DNS servers will be querie d.
DNS ConfigurationAbout the DNS Domain Name
The DNS Domain Name is used when
attempting to resolve ser ver addresses
configured on the VCS that are no t fully
qualified. It applies only to the f ollowing:
LDAP server
NTP server
External Manager ser ver.
The DNS Domain Name is append ed to the
server address before a que ry to the DNS
server is executed. Note however t hat DNS
will also be queried for the ser ver address as
configured, without the DN S Domain Name
appended. For this reason we re commend
that all server addresses us e a FQDN.
The DNS Domain name plays no par t in URI
dialing.
