ENUM Dialing
Configuring ENUM Zones
In order for locally registere d endpoints to use
ENUM dialing, you must configure a n ENUM
zone for each ENUM service us ed by remote
endpoints. To do this:
VCS Configuration > Zones.
You will be taken to the Zones page.
Click New.
You will be taken to the Create Zone page.
Enter the zone Name and select a Type of
ENUM.
Click Create Zone.
You will be taken to the Edit Zone page.

ENUM Dialing for Outgoing Calls
Any number of ENUM zones may be
configured on the VCS.
You should configure at least one
ENUM zone for each DNS suffi x that your
endpoints may use.
Normal zone pattern matchi ng and
prioritization rules will app ly to ENUM
zones.
Name
Assigns a name to this zone.
Type
For ENUM zones, this will be ENUM.
Hop count
Specifies the hop count to be us ed when
sending an alias search request t o this zone.
If the search request was recei ved from
another zone and already has a hop co unt
assigned, the lower of the two val ues will be
used.

DNS suffix

The DNS zone that is to be queried fo r a
NAPTR record. This suff ix is appended to the
transformed E.164 number in an at tempt to
find a matching NAPTR reco rd.
H.323 mode
Determines whether or not H.323 r ecords will
be looked up for this zone.
SIP mode
Determines whether or not SIP r ecords will be
looked up for this zone.
Match1 - Match5
These sections allow you to speci fy any
filtering criteria and/or transfo rms you wish to
apply to this zone. See Configuri ng Matches
for ENUM zones and Configuring Tran sforms
for ENUM zones for full informatio n on how the
Match options can be applied.
