User Policy

Enabling User Policy on the VCS

Mode

Determines whether or not User Po licy will be

enabled, and if so, the location of t he User

Policy Manager.

Off: User Policy is not enabled .

Local: User Policy is enabled and th e VCS’s

own User Policy Manager is used.

Remote: User Policy is enabled and a User

Policy Manager located on anot her system

is used. If you select this option, fu rther

configuration options will ap pear (see below).

Configuring User Policy Manager

To configure the User Policy Manager:

VCS Configuration > Policy > User.

You will be taken to the User Policy page.

The URL of the remote User Policy Man ager.

Username

The username used by the VCS to log in a nd

query the remote User Policy M anager.

Protocol

The protocol used to connect to t he remote

User Policy Manager.

Address

The IP address or domain name of t he remote

User Policy Manager.

Password

The password used by the VCS to log in an d

query the remote User Policy M anager.

Administrator Policy will always b e

applied regardless of the User Pol icy

mode.
