4.3.2 SERIES SERVICE CALL CONDITIONS
There are 4 levels of service call conditions.
Level
Definition Reset Procedure
A Fusing unit SCs displayed on the operation
panel. The machine is disabled. The operator
cannot reset the SC.
Enter SP mode, then turn the
main power switch OFF and
ON.
B
SCs that disable only the features that use the
defective item. These SCs are not shown to the
operator under normal conditions. They are
displayed on the operation panel only when the
defective feature is selected.
Turn the main power switch
OFF and ON.
C SCs that are not shown on the operation panel.
They are internally logged. Logging only
D
Turning the operation switch (or main power
switch) OFF then ON resets these SCs. These
SCs are displayed on the operation panel and
displayed again if the error reoccurs.
Turn the operation switch (or
main power switch) OFF and
ON, or the machine reboots
automatically. (See below.)
When a Level “D” SC code occurs
When a Level D SC occurs, a screen opens on the operat ion panel to tell the
operator:
A n error occurred
The job in progress will be erased
T he machine will reboot automatically after approximately 30 seconds.
The operator can wait until the machine reboots automatically or press “Reset” on
the screen to reset the machine immediately and go back to the copy screen.
If the operator does not presses “Reset”
The next message tells the operator that the machine will reset automatically and
that the previous job was lost and must be started again. After reading the
message, the operator presses “Confirm” on the screen. The next screen shows
the number and title of the SC code, and stops until the operator turns the machine
OFF and ON.
If the operator presses “Reset”
If the operator presses "Reset" to bypass the 30-second interval for the machine to
reboot, the machine reboots immediately and the operation panel displays the copy
screen.
Important
Do not try to use the operation panel during an automatic reboot.
