Services Folder

This folder contains several subfolders.

The Printing subfolder contains a hot link labeled Print Mode, and another sub-folder labeled Language Emulations.

Click on the Print Mode hot link to set the Page Description Language emulation used by the Printer's Input Ports displayed on the screen. Depending upon the Ports enabled at the Device, the list of Ports will include: Parallel, AppleTalk (with PostScript), SMB, LPD, IPP and Port 9100. Typical Page Description selections for each Port include: Auto (auto select), PostScript, HP-GL/2, PCL, and TIFF/JPEG. To have the Device register changes made to any settings, click the rectangular Apply button.

Click on the Language Emulations folder, then on a Page Description language to access the Printer's default preferences for processing that Page Description Language. To have the Device register changes made to any settings, click the Apply button.

The E-mail subfolder contains a Default link to set up default E-mail parameters and a Public Address Book link. For complete information on REQUIRED E-mail settings, refer to the Scan to E-mail topic in the Options section of this guide. The Public Address Book hot link enables you to import an address book in Comma Separated Value (CSV) format. This address book can be used by such system options as E-mail, Fax, and iFAX. Click the Browse… button to locate your CSV formatted file, then click Import Now.

The Fax subfolder is used to set the machine to support embedded fax (Scan to Fax) or Server Fax (Scan to Fax Server). The Defaults hot link is used to enable or disable the printing of a Transfer Report in support of Server Fax operations. Refer to the Server Fax topic of this guide for full information.
