6Place the new battery with the "+" facing up into the battery connector and gently press down on the battery until it snaps into place.
7Install the memory risers on the left side of the system. See "Installing a Memory Riser" on page 98
8Install the top cover. See "Installing the Top Cover" on page 60.
9Reconnect the system to its electrical outlet and turn the system and any attached peripherals on.
10Enter the System Setup program to confirm that the battery is operating properly. See "Entering the System Setup Program" on page 41.
11Enter the correct time and date in the System Setup program's Time and Date fields.
12Exit the System Setup program.
13To test the newly installed battery, remove power from the system and disconnect it from the electrical outlet for at least an hour.
14After an hour, reconnect the system to its electrical outlet and turn it on.
15Enter the System Setup program and if the time and date are still incorrect, see "Getting Help" on page 165 for instructions on obtaining technical assistance.
